Diane Ghanem

Diane Ghanem, MD, MPH, is a an orthopedic surgery resident at Creighton University in Nebraska. She earned her medical degree at the American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine. She did her graduate school at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She plays forward or right wing.

Diane represented the Lebanese Women’s National Football Team (2014–2018) and the Lebanese Women’s National Futsal Team (2018–2019). She captained the American University of Beirut Women’s Varsity Futsal Team, played Division I futsal with USJ Club 1875, competed briefly with the Baltimore Royals in the Superliga, and most recently captained the Johns Hopkins MPH co-ed soccer team.

Diane speaks 4 languages, and she gets too comfortable, she will speak all of them in the same sentence! She joined the US Women’s Medical Soccer Team because soccer is where she feels most at home. It has taught her resilience, discipline, and the value of teamwork while giving her lifelong friendships and unforgettable experiences. Representing the U.S. Medical Soccer Team is especially meaningful because it brings together her two greatest passions of medicine and the beautiful game.
