Elizabeth Tribelhorn

Elizabeth Tribelhorn, MD, FACS is a general surgeon based in Tucson, Arizona. She graduated from UC Irvine School of Medicine in 2015 and completed her General Surgery Residency at the University of Arizona in 2020. She currently serves patients through the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System and plays midfield.

Elizabeth played competitively through college and continued playing intramural and club soccer into medical school. Her love for the game did not fade, it simply paused during the intensity of training and residency. She returned to playing after a 10-year hiatus and was reminded how much soccer has always meant to her.

Her life is full of great stories. She lived in Spain for a year before medical school and played club soccer while living abroad. Her favorite class in college was a math course focused on cryptology. And in the peak exhaustion of residency, she once fell asleep in the middle of a Metallica concert.

Elizabeth plays with the US Women’s Medical Soccer Team because it reignited her love for the game and introduced her to a welcoming group of women physicians who support each other on the field and beyond it.
