Mae Zakhour

Mae Zakhour is a Gynecologic Oncologist who graduated from UT Southwestern Medical School in 2009. She practices in Grand Rapids, Michigan with Corewell Health and plays as a defender.

Mae played soccer in high school, club, and two years of DIII college. Her journey has taken her across the country. She grew up in Dallas, completed medical training in LA, and now calls the Midwest home.

Mae lives in west Michigan with her husband, son, daughter, and three pets, a dog, a cat, and an orange striped gargoyle gecko named Mango.

Mae tried out for the US Women’s Medical Soccer Team because it gave her the rare opportunity to challenge herself and compete internationally in her 40s. Being part of the team has introduced her to incredible people, and she is grateful to share the experience alongside one of her local goal-scoring best friends, Becky. USMST keeps her motivated, fit, and connected to the sport she loves year-round.
